Excerpt: “Over-Pinged” – Medium.com

I used to have Facebook and the Facebook app installed on my iPhone. I remember during my last months of having a Facebook, they decided it was a good idea to ping me every time my friends posted a meaningless rant or uploaded a drunk photo, my “close friends”, Facebook told me. This compelled me to delete my Facebook as I realized that mostly everything on the social network did not make me more “social” or “happy” or “liked”. Facebook made me feel obligated, tense, jealous, lonely, and fearful of rejection. Jaoquin, on Medium
